Deaf Aboriginal Services creates a vision of “resources, access and inclusion” in Australia.
Out of the estimated 16,000 Australians with a sight, hearing or speech impairment around 3.6% are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. (Culture is inclusion, Scott Avery FPDN)
Our team aims to build capacity in communities between Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal organisations and Individuals as well as making Australia an inclusive place for Deaf Aboriginal people through translation services available in Auslan.
Our commitment is to provide a culturally safe environment appropriate to the respects and beliefs of Aboriginal and Deaf Aboriginal people.
